The final chapter of the BLAST Premier 2025 season is set to unfold as the elite of Counter-Strike 2 teams converge on Hong Kong for BLAST Rivals 2025 Season 2. Happening from November 12 to 16 at the Asia World-Arena in Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong, this tournament represents the last challenge and proving ground before the StarLadder Budapest Major.

Format and Teams

The competition kicks off with a Group Stage featuring two double-elimination groups, each with four teams playing in best-of-three matches. This format rewards consistency while offering second chances, as the top three teams from each group advance to the single-elimination Playoffs.

Group winners will earn a direct ticket to the Semifinals, while runners-up will enter the Quarterfinals as high seeds, and third-place finishers compete as low seeds. The stakes escalate in the final bracket, where Quarterfinals and Semifinals remain best-of-three battles before culminating in a best-of-five Grand Final that will crown the champion.

Teams

The tournament brings together a blend of Valve Regional Standings invites and regional wildcards representing the global Counter-Strike landscape.

Headlining the competition are powerhouses like Team Vitality, Team Spirit, FURIA and Team Falcons, who secured their spots through VRS rankings.

The regional invites add a mix of international teams with The MongolZ representing Asia, Passion UA flying the European flag, paiN Gaming defending the South American pride, and TYLOO completing the eight-team field.

Teams to Watch

FURIA enters Hong Kong as the undisputed favorite after their incredible 3-0 victory against Team Vitality at IEM Chengdu 2025 last weekend, with molodoy's exceptional form that earned him the MVP of the tournament. Team Vitality remains a dangerous threat despite that recent setback, as the duo of ZywOo and ropz possesses the firepower to reclaim their supremacy once again.

Team Falcons arrives hungry for redemption, eager to transform their talent-stacked roster into a championship-winning unit after several upsets this season. Meanwhile, Team Spirit and The MongolZ seek consistency as they fine-tune their strategies ahead of the Budapest Major.

Prize Pool Distribution

  • Total Prize Pool: $350,000
  • Champions: $125,000 + 2 Freq Flyer Tokens
  • Runners-up: $75,000
  • 3rd–4th Place: $40,000 each
  • 5th–6th Place: $25,000 each
  • 7th–8th Place: $10,000 each

Beyond the financial rewards, every placement carries weight for the Valve Regional Standings, making each map victory critical as teams position themselves for the 2026 Major cycle.

* The frequent flyers programme is designed to reward teams for their consistency and participation in multiple BLAST events.

Why BLAST Rivals Matter?

As the final S-Tier event before the Budapest Major, the BLAST Rivals 2025 Season 2 offers fans and analysts the last close look at teams' performances under pressure, when it counts most. The timing creates a fascinating dynamic where established team must prove their readiness while the underdogs try their best to seize a final opportunity to test themselves against world-class opposition before the biggest stage in Counter Strike, the last one of the year.

For teams like Passion UA, paiN Gaming, and TYLOO, the tournament is more than prize money. It's their chance to gain invaluable experience and momentum against an elite competition. Every tactical adjustment, map pick, and clutch play in Hong Kong will be scrutinized as a potential preview of what awaits in Budapest.
