BLAST Slam IV: Meta Recap – Hoodwinked and Going Nuts
Along with the end of the BLAST Slam IV, we bring our meta recap to analyze how things changed during the tournament. We’ll look at the five most popular heroes, their performance, and how teams took advantage of the evolving meta.
After that, it’s time to update the Shadow Meta. We’ll explore the heroes with the best win rates and see which roles benefited the most from them.

Hoodwinked and Going Nuts
Starting with the most popular heroes, we have Tusk in fifth place, boasting the second-highest win rate. With 15 victories in 28 matches, the Walrus bruiser achieved a respectable 53.57% win rate. His time away from the spotlight is clearly over — the stats prove he’s back in top form.
Next in line is Jakiro, with 15 wins in 29 matches, which gives him a 51.72% win rate. In third place, Abaddon follows closely, with 16 victories in 31 matches and a 51.61% win rate. Snapfire ranks second in popularity but has the lowest win rate among the top five — 40.63%, with 13 wins in 32 games.

She had already secured fourth place at FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2 and has improved since then. With 24 victories in 41 matches, she achieved an impressive 58.54% win rate, a 6% increase compared to her previous ranking.
MOUZ took the best advantage out of Tusk while BetBoom Team and Heroic were the best performances with Jakiro. NaVi and Tundra had the best Abaddon stats followed by MOUZ and NaVi again on Snapfire. Finally, the best Hoodwink team was surprisingly Team Spirit, with five victories in six matches.
Shadow Meta Recap: Darkness Prevails
Across the 96 matches played at BLAST Slam IV, only a few heroes truly stood out. These were the most efficient performers, each appearing in at least 10% of all matches.
This time, only one hero broke the 70% win rate barrier: Bane. With 14 wins in 19 matches, he reached a 73.68% win rate, making him the single best-performing hero of the tournament.

Even so, it’s noticeably smaller than its FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2 counterpart. Here’s the list of heroes and their respective win rates:
- Shadow Demon (66.67%)
- Tidehunter (66.67%)
- Chen (64%)
- Ringmaster (63.64%)
- Sand King (61.54%)
- Juggernaut (60%)

The group splits evenly between three cores and three supports — once again showing that good supports make the biggest difference in professional Dota 2 in terms of performance.
A pleasant surprise is Juggernaut’s presence with a 60% win rate. The hero played a key role in Xtreme Gaming’s downfall at this year’s International, and his return to this list shows that despite his flaws, Juggernaut remains a powerful and respected hero on the battlefield.
Closing Thoughts
Between FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2 and the end of BLAST Slam IV, the meta shifted significantly. Despite the differences, one trend remains clear — a select group of cores surrounded by a wide variety of supports continue to define the pro scene.
As we move forward, teams will likely adapt to these trends, either changing focus or experimenting with counterpicks. Meanwhile, everyone eagerly awaits the next Dota 2 patch to shake up the meta once again before the year ends.
