KT Rolster Shock Gen.G to Reach Their First-Ever Grand Finals at Worlds
Few believed they could do it, but KT Rolster utliamtely shocked League of Legends fans everywhere by taking down the biggest favorites at Worlds 2025: Gen.G.
Despite their dominant year, Gen.G once again fail to make it count when it matters most. As for KT, the team is now one match away from securing their first Worlds title off the back of a rampant Gwak "Bdd" Bo-seong.
An Astonishing Semifinals Clash
Coming into the match, Gen.G held a dominant 6-1 record over KT Rolster in 2025. Naturally, most of the scene believed they would make it past their LCK rivals once more to reach the Grand Finals. What followed instead came as a surprise to just about everyone in the scene.
KT came out of the gates swinging, going blow for blow against Gen.G over the course of a bloody, hard-fought first game of the series that saw a total of 37 kills in 46 minutes of play. After coming away with the victory in Game 1, KT's message was loud and clear: they would not shrink away from the challenge.
Gen.G then managed to punch back in Game 2 to even out the series. From then on, though, KT turned into an indomitable beasts the likes of which not even Chovy and Ruler were capable of containing.
Incredible as it may sound, KT closed out the series by going 33-4 in kills over the last two games, utterly dominating the very team that won back-to-back international titles ahead of Worlds 2025.
After securing the win, the KT squad was elated as they now find themselves just one win away from putting up one of the most remarkable and unexpected runs in Worlds history.
Bdd Is the Best Player at Worlds 2025
Regardless of what might happen in the Grand Finals, it seems safe to say that Bdd has claimed the title of best player at the tournament. Not only does he have the highest KDA out of all players at Worlds at a staggering 10.93, but he's also the number 1 Mid Laner in terms of kills per game (4.91).
Looking past the numbers, though, what Bdd managed to pull off during this Semifinals match is simply unheard of. Throughout the match, the KT Mid Laner consistently outplayed Chovy, solo-killing him, catching him off-guard, and outperforming him time and time again in crucial team fights.
While Chovy may be rightly recognized as the best player in the world (for several years running now), there's no denying that Bdd has been a cut above the competition at Worlds 2025. Now, it's time to make this performance count by granting KT their first Worlds trophy, cementing Bdd's place in League of Legends history.
