After the 2025 BLAST Rivals Season 2 Quarterfinals played out as expected, we head into the Semifinals tomorrow, where Group Winners FURIA and Team Falcons will face today’s victors.

The first Semifinal fixture will feature two frontrunners of Brazilian Counter-Strike — paiN Gaming and FURIA — taking on each other, followed by Team Vitality facing Team Falcons, a rematch of the EPL S22 Grand Finals.

While the first game features the hottest CS2 team in FURIA, the matchup could very well end in a landslide. The showstopper, however, will be the clash of m0NESY and ZywOo headlining the Vitality-Falcons Semifinal.

Team Vitality - Still Clawing Back to the Top

No one expected Team Vitality to lift 7 back-to-back trophies, truly an era-defining start.

But what followed the Austin Major was just as unexpected. The once indomitable, undefeated team stumbles through the group stages and falls short in the Playoffs.

Right now, Team Vitality is struggling — not as much as they did immediately after the Major, but they continue to struggle. A large part of this can be attributed to the dominance they showcased in the first half. Playing better than everyone means your gameplay is under a microscope, waiting to be figured out.

And now Vitality is a team with a figured-out playstyle and stratbook. The first safety net of immaculate synergy is lacking, and the individuals just aren’t enough anymore. That doesn’t mean they aren’t a top team and a tournament favorite. It just means they are mortal, they bleed, and will continue to do so until the individuals and teamwork click.

Team Falcons — Firepower, but No Bueno

Vitality’s opponent this time is a Team Falcons that is stacked to the brim, but just can’t win tournaments.

If it were any other team but Falcons, their tournament results would be impressive, not underwhelming. To put this into perspective, they have not placed below 4th in the last four tournaments they’ve attended. That is an impressive run, and if FaZe achieved the same, the conversation would be drastically different.

But they aren’t FaZe — they are a team featuring NiKo, m0NESY and Kyousuke, a stacked roster, meaning anything below a tournament win is a disappointing result.

The problem for Falcons isn’t synergy or strats; they are good at playing with each other. Unfortunately, the individuals are inconsistent — including NiKo and m0NESY. If they can overcome the mental part of the game, they will undoubtedly become the best team in the world.

They have shown they can take down any top team (except the new FURIA; they haven’t defeated Molodoy yet), and if they perform consistently, they can close out tournaments.

m0NESY vs. ZywOo: Duel to Decide the Fate

Both teams feature stacked rosters, but the m0NESY vs. ZywOo clash takes centre stage. The GOAT vs. Baby GOAT AWP duel will dictate the outcome of the Bo3.While the impact of m0NESY’s performance on Falcons’ form is immense, it also backfires if he has a poor day, especially on defense. For Vitality, however, they are multi-faceted — even if ZywOo fails to hit all his shots, mezii, ropz and flameZ can make up for them.

Moreover, ropz’s individuality alone is a big factor for teams to consider on the T-side, allowing ZywOo more time to come online. This means that for Falcons, the importance of m0NESY taking down his counterpart is much higher. For ZywOo, it's about making the day’s work easier and securing the game faster.

Team Falcons vs. Team Vitality: Form Reigns Supreme

Apart from the dueling GOATs, a big deciding factor in tomorrow’s second BLAST Rivals Fall Semifinal will be form. If either team starts slow, the other could run away with the map—if not the entire game.

But before the players take the stage, the series will kick off with map vetos:

  • The first set of bans will be Overpass and Ancient, the permaban of Falcons and Vitality respectively.
  • Falcons will pick Train and Vitality will answer back with Inferno.
  • Falcons will ban Nuke, forcing Vitality to choose between Dust II and Mirage as the decider.
  • With ball in Vitality’s court, they will take it to Dust II, where apEX and ropz can fully express their individual role over a slightly coin-flippy Mirage.

With the maps set, a win condition for Falcons will be securing the first map. Going into Vitality’s pick with a deficit means added pressure to hit their shots, and the chances of a collapse rise significantly. For Vitality, as long as they can play their game, their style of Counter-Strike should naturally counter Falcons—especially since ropz doesn’t necessarily have a direct counterpart on the Falcons side, giving Vitality a subtle edge.

However, a Falcons lineup where all five players show up in peak form would make life extremely difficult for Vitality. Any overextension from the Vitality side would be punished heavily.

Prediction:

Based on the current form of both the rosters and the teams overall, Team Vitality should take the series 2-1 over Team Falcons. The game will be extremely close and could swing either way, but Vitality’s clutch potential right now is higher.
