Peanut's Career Ends with Stellar Final Showdown at Worlds 2025
After more than 10 years playing at the highest level, Han "Peanut" Wang-ho now says goodbye to competitive League of Legends as he heads to perform his mandatory military service.
In his final professional match, Peanut faced his long-standing LCK rivals of Gen.G in the Quarterfinals of Worlds 2025. Despite the series culminating in a loss, the match delivered a stellar showdown between two heavyweights of the scene, providing Peanut and all of his fans a worthy farewell.
Peanut's Final Show: Two Titans Clash
Unfortunately for Peanut, Hanwha Life Esports drew none other than Gen.G — a team that has won back-to-back international tournaments leading up to Worlds — in the Quarterfinals. Tough matchup or not, Peanut and the rest of HLE showed up to the match ready to give it their all and show they can contend with even the best team in the world.
The result was a bloody, hard-fought series that saw it all. Suffice it to know that the second game of the series became the second-longest game of the year across all of Tier-1 play, lasting more than 58 minutes of play and delivering a total of 51 kills.
In the end, Gen.G proved how hungry they are to land Chovy his first Worlds title as they came away with the 3-1 victory and will continue their path to the trophy. As for Hanwha Life, their elimination from the tournament quickly turned into a farewell party for Peanut, a player who gave the organization his all over the last two years of his career.
A Legend Departs
Worlds 2025 presented Peanut with his final chance to win the biggest trophy in League of Legends esports. Unfortunately for the South Korean Jungler, Gen.G had something to say about that.
Despite never winning a Worlds title, though, Peanut departs from the scene as one of the best Junglers to ever do it. Peanut's consistency across his 10 years playing at the highest level is simply unmatched, earning him a spot on some of the best teams in the world time and again, including runs with ROX Tigers, SK Telecom T1, Gen.G, and Hanwha Life Esports.
No matter the meta, no matter the year, no matter the competition, Peanut has always remained competitive. While he may not have been able to secure the biggest accolade of all, the legendary Jungler's extensive list of accomplishments is enviable, to say the least:
