The International 14 has concluded and a big congratulations to Team Falcons for taking home the Aegis. The team showed incredible understanding of the meta, and took down Chinese powerhouse Xtreme Gaming in a fantastic five game finale.

We're going to be looking at a lot of the stats on TI14 and the first thing we will check is how each region fared in the event, especially with the resurgence of Chinese teams.

Ranking Every Dota 2 Region At The International 14

7. Southeast Asia

Team Nemesis (16th), BOOM esports (14-15)

Total prize pool earning: 1.5%

There's no question about it. SEA had the worst performance among all regions at The International 14 and it's not even close. The tournament almost started well for them, with both teams nearly defeating Falcons and Team Liquid. Unfortunately, that didn't happen and the region spirlaed after that. After day one, Nemesis and BOOM's spirits were broken and most matches were one-sided affair. The only win SEA picked up is when both representitves faced each other.

Overall, a disappointing, but not unexpected performance from Southeast Asia and certainly the weakest Dota 2 region at The International 14..

6. North America

This is the result of a lot of hard work and dedication. They won against the odds and now will have the chance to do it again on The International. - Credit: Twitter (@wykrhm)

Wildcard (9-13th)

Total prize pool earning: 1.8%

On a whole, North America did pretty decent, considering that they had one representative and Wildcard faced off against the strongest opponents in the tournament. Wildcard was eliminated by Parivision, the eventual third place winner and they nearly beat them in game two.

In the end, despite ranking sixth, North America put up a good showing and I was glad to see Wildcard earn some fans.

5. Western Europe

Team Liquid (9-13th), Tundra Esports (7-8th)

Total prize pool earning: 5.8%

Despite being touted as one of the two strongest regions in the game, and comprising of last year's champions, Western Europe failed to live up to expectations, with fairly early exits.

Team Liquid's defeat is particularly unfortunate. They had an ok group stage but then faced off against Tundra, the only other team from their region. Similar to SEA, WEU ended up eliminating itself.

For Tundra Esports, it was a different problem. Matthew "Whitemon" Filemon is arguably the best player on the squad, and his absence was obvious. While Tundra did their best to adjust, it just wasn't the same team.

I'd say Tundra overperformed considering their circumstances, but Liquid's early exit was quite a shock.

4. South America

Heroic takes down Tundra Esports

Heroic (5-6th)

Total prize pool earning: 5%

It seems like every TI South America shows up big time. I'd say they overperformed but at this point this is basically standard South America.

It was a dicey start for the region, with two losses back to back, putting them in a scary spot. Heroic rallied after that, with four wins in a row to make it to the playoffs.

Similar to Wildcard, Heroic also faced up against Parivision and got sent to the lower bracket. The team then sent Tundra home and nearly defeated BetBoom as well.

South America not only had a great tournament placement, they played a phenomenal style of Dota that was thrilling to watch. Heroic's fantastic exit interview further solidified them as fan favorites.

3. Eastern Europe

Navi (14-15th), Team Spirit (9-13), Aurora Gaming (9-13), BetBoom Team (4th place), Parivision (3rd place)

Total prize pool earning: 19.6%

With five teams representing one of the strongest regions, it was likely that Eastern Europe would do well at TI and perhaps even win the whole thing. While the region ranks third in our list, it was mostly due to two teams.

Navi was hyped as a strong upcoming team, yet aside from taking a series from Heroic, they failed to make their mark this TI. Aurora Gaming also underperformed. They did well in the group stage but lost to Nigma Galaxy when it mattered. At least that series was entertaining.

The biggest surprise was Team Spirit. Everyone had them as one of the top contenders, and anything less than a top six finish was thought to be impossible. While a big part of their loss was facing Falcons in an elimination match, Spirit also looked unstable in the group stage.

It was BetBoom Team and Parivision who carried the hopes of the region and they carried them well. Parivision in particular did amazingly well for a squad that had mostly newcomers to the tournament.

Still, I'd say that Eastern Europe was an underwhelming Dota 2 region at The International 14, owing to Spirit's early exit and highest participants.

2. China

Yakutou Brothers (9-13), Team Tidebound (7-8th), Xtreme Gaming (2nd)

Total prize pool earning: 18.8%

Let's state it plainly, China is back. The region was showing signs of resurgence at Clayvision Snow Ruyi and solidified their spot on the world stage at The International.

Let's start with Yakutou Brothers. Sure they didn't make it past the elimination round, but they had the same placement as former champions Liquid and Spirit. And that's not even going into the fact that they were a last-minute standin team.

Tidebound started out very strong with four wins in the group stage. Unfortunately, it seemed they got figured out in the break. But a top eight finish at The International is nothing to scoff at.

Lastly we have Xtreme Gaming and Wang "Ame" Chunyu's third grand final appearance at TI. While he wasn't able to lift the Aegis this time, Xtreme entered the series as underdogs and played eight games in one day, with most of them being very competitive.

China is back as one of the strongest Dota 2 regions at The International 14. Here's hoping the momentum lasts and we see even more from the region, especially with the next TI in Shanghai.

Team Falcons Wins The International 2025: The End of an Era in Dota 2

Nigma Galaxy (5-6th), Team Falcons (1st)

Total prize pool earning: 47.5%

The strongest Dota 2 regional performance at The International 14 goes to the Middle East and North Africa. Their two representatives took nearly half of the entire prize pool. That's more than twice what Eastern Europe got.

It's hard to pick which is the bigger story, Falcons winning after being a dominant force for two years, or Nigma Galaxy having a fantastic tournament after multiple inconsistent performances.

I was thrilled to see Nigma doing well. They squeaked by the group stage thanks to a last day victory over Navi. Despite going 2-3 in the group stage, Nigma had mostly three game series, and most of them were very close calls.

The scariest moment for the team was their match against Aurora, a straight up best of three elimination match. The series went nearly three hours, but it was Nigma who came out on top in the end.

Nigma Galaxy was eventually eliminated by Xtreme Gaming, rather anti-climatically I'd say. But it was a great run for the squad and showcased that this team has a lot of life in them.

On and Falcons got the Aegis, that's nice too.

That's our ranking for every Dota 2 region at The International 14. Let us know what you think about the list and which region surprised you the most.
