Valorant Patch 11.10: Harbor Rework, QoL Updates, Bug Fixes, MFA Launches
VALORANT’s upcoming patch looks to trim the hedges more than anything. Following the sweeping changes in Patch 11.08, we’ve now skipped a patch, going straight to 11.10. Big highlights of the patch are UI updates across the board for collections and In-Game, Clove balance changes, and of course, the long-awaited Harbor rework. Let’s get into it.
Harbor Set to Make Waves
We’ve already gone over the Harbor rework in more in-depth fashion here, so check it out if you’re curious what sort of makeover VALORANT’s least utilized controller has undergone.
As a quick TLDR, Harbor will be losing his Cascade ability. In it’s place will be an ability called Storm Surge, which will be castable and cause Nearsight and Slow to enemies in its AOE. Cove has been moved to his signature ability slot, and you’ll not only be able to cast it like an Omen Dark Cover but also choose when to activate the shield portion of the Cove. Lastly, his ultimate, Reckoning, will function like one massive version of his former Cascade, but will Nearsight and Slow enemies hit by the surge.
While Harbor’s new kit doesn’t completely address the weaknesses of the agent that have long prevented his prominence in the controller role, the changes have gone some ways towards one, reinvigorating interest in the agent and potentially seeing a resurgence of interest from higher level players and teams attempting to incorporate him within new compositions and strategies, and two, providing him a more aligned kit that offers better playmaking potential from an agent that was designed as an initiator-controller hybrid.

Riot’s biggest success story of creating the perfect agent for the ranked experience has once again taken another backstep with another nerf. The two targeted aspects of Clove’s kit that have been hit in this latest patch will make them far less appealing for the average ranked player.
Their Ruse will now only offer a single charge once Clove is dead, meaning far less value will be gotten from playing Clove aggressive early in the round. Moreover, their Pick Me Up will now only heal for 50hp instead of 100hp, making them far less durable in subsequent follow up duels.

As reported earlier this year, Riot will begin rolling out Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). This will only affect Ascendant+ players as they will be required from Patch 11.10 to enable MFA to access competitive queue.
For now, the regions where this requirement will be rolled out are North America, Latin America, Brazil, and Korea.
Game Changers to Participate in Pick’Ems
The successful launch of the Pick’Ems aspect of large international VALORANT tournaments now bears fruit for other leagues as well. The Game Changers Championship, for the first time, will have the Pick’Ems available in-game as well as on the web. Check out our cover here for a better idea of what to expect and perhaps a few tips on picking the correct teams (wink we have no idea either).
